System Operation

NebulaTor works as a complete extruder upgrade around the original Nebula platform: filament enters the drive path, sensing gives more information about where filament is, the gear stage drives the filament, and the cutter system is integrated into the modified body.

Operation Sequence

Filament path

Filament enters the Nebula-style path, passes the main sensing area, and moves through the dual gear drive.

Sensing

The stock sensor position remains and the project adds a sensing point after the gears to improve path awareness.

Drive mechanism

The manual documents a dual gear drive, rotation distance 51.75, and gear ratio 11.25:1.

Gear area

Internal mechanical updates include improved gear meshing in the latest CAD revision.

Cutter system

An Olfa blade cutter is integrated into the modified extruder body for controlled filament cutting.

Switches and electronics

The development configuration references sensor/button logic and a PCB with support for the added sensing path. Final release status remains pending.
