Privacy Policy

This document is a strong operational draft for CN3D Docs and is not legal advice. The individual site operator should have public contact details, operator identity wording and jurisdiction wording reviewed before relying on it as final legal text.

This localized legal page currently uses the English source text until a reviewed translation is available.

Scope and controller

This Privacy Policy applies to CN3D Docs at docs.cn3d.eu and related CN3D educational pages, calibration calculators, troubleshooting flows, knowledge base articles, project documentation, newsletter forms, dashboard features, assessment flows and MMX project forms.

CN3D Docs is currently operated by an individual site operator as an EU-based educational project. The public operator contact method still needs to be completed before publication as final legal text. TODO: create a dedicated public contact channel, preferably privacy@cn3d.eu or legal@cn3d.eu, or a protected contact page/reveal mechanism.

Data we collect

• Account and authentication data: Google OAuth identity data handled through Supabase Auth, such as user ID, email address, name and avatar where provided by Google.
• Dashboard and cloud save data: calibration settings, progress records, profile data and related printer or filament information saved by signed-in users.
• Newsletter data: email address, subscription status, signup source page, locale, unsubscribe status and related email delivery data.
• Assessment data: email address, selected answers, computed score, maker level, recommended lessons/tools/articles, locale, privacy consent, optional newsletter opt-in and user agent where submitted.
• Project form data: MMX serial request details such as builder name, email, country, contact type/value, public display name, printer, MMX version, build links, photo/video URLs, notes, consent choices and review status.
• Feedback and impact data: support/impact vote data and similar voluntary inputs submitted through site features.
• Analytics data: page paths and usage events collected through Google Analytics where active.
• Technical and security logs: IP-derived request metadata, user agent, rate-limit data, API request metadata, server logs, error logs and security events needed to operate and protect the service.

Why we process data and legal bases

• To provide requested features, including accounts, cloud saves, assessment reports, newsletter subscription management and MMX serial request review. Legal bases: contract or steps requested by the user, and legitimate interests.
• To send CN3D Insider emails and related welcome/unsubscribe messages. Legal basis: consent, with the right to withdraw at any time.
• To understand and improve educational content, calculators, troubleshooting flows and project pages. Legal bases: consent where required for analytics cookies, and legitimate interests for aggregated operational metrics.
• To prevent spam, abuse, unauthorized access, scraping, attacks and service misuse. Legal basis: legitimate interests and legal obligations where applicable.
• To keep consent records, comply with legal duties and respond to privacy requests. Legal bases: legal obligation and legitimate interests.

Cookies and similar technologies

CN3D Docs uses technologies needed for site operation, authentication sessions, preferences and analytics. Google Analytics is loaded only after a user accepts analytics cookies through the cookie consent control.

Third-party processors and services

• Supabase: authentication, database storage and related backend services.
• Google: OAuth sign-in and Google Analytics.
• Resend: transactional and newsletter-related email delivery.
• External community and support platforms linked from the site, including Discord, YouTube, Printables, GitHub, Buy Me a Coffee and PayPal, may process data under their own terms when users visit them.

Retention

CN3D keeps personal data only as long as needed for the purpose collected, including operating accounts, sending requested emails, retaining consent records, reviewing MMX serial requests, preserving security logs and meeting legal obligations.

Newsletter records are kept until unsubscribe plus a reasonable period for suppression and audit records. Account, dashboard and progress data are kept while an account remains active unless deletion is requested. MMX serial request records may be retained while the serial/review history remains relevant, unless deletion or anonymization is appropriate.

Your rights

• Access your personal data.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion where applicable.
• Object to or restrict processing where applicable.
• Request portability of data you provided where applicable.
• Withdraw consent for newsletter or analytics processing where consent is the legal basis.
• Request account deletion or export for account/dashboard data where technically available.

Users in other regions may have additional rights under local law. CN3D will handle valid privacy requests according to applicable law.

For privacy requests, account deletion/export requests or questions, CN3D Docs needs a dedicated public contact method. TODO: create and publish privacy@cn3d.eu or legal@cn3d.eu, or provide a protected contact page/reveal mechanism. Until that is configured, this draft should not be treated as a complete public contact notice.
